We envision ordinary people making disciples, leaders developing leaders, and multiplying communities of faith bringing the hope and healing of Jesus to every neighborhood.
Baltimore is a city of remarkable diversity, deep history, resilient neighborhoods, and profound challenges. Yet too often, the divisions between our communities are reflected in the life of the church.
We believe God is calling his people to cross these boundaries—not simply to build stronger churches, but to cultivate a movement of disciples who bring the hope and healing of Jesus into every neighborhood.
Our vision is not just for more churches in Baltimore. It's for a city transformed as disciples make disciples across racial, cultural, economic, and neighborhood lines.
Why Baltimore?
In Acts 11–13, the church in Antioch became a remarkable picture of the gospel crossing boundaries. People from different backgrounds came together in Christ, leaders were raised up, and missionaries were sent out to carry the good news beyond their own community.
Antioch wasn't simply a thriving local congregation. It became a sending center for a movement that reached far beyond itself.
That's the kind of movement we long to see in Greater Baltimore: diverse communities following Jesus, developing leaders, and sending disciples to multiply the gospel's presence throughout the city and beyond.

This is how a movement grows—not through one organization, but through people and churches joining together in God's mission.
Our vision is bigger than growing programs or filling classrooms. We long to see disciples who make disciples, leaders who equip other leaders, and churches that cultivate new communities of faith.
BALM exists to help spark and strengthen this multiplication across Greater Baltimore. We celebrate not only the people we directly train or serve, but also the lives, relationships, and communities transformed as the movement grows beyond us.
