Awakening the Forgotten Ways Conference

“God was absolutely working through that conference. The Spirit of God was moving... You could feel something was happening. People were having serious conversations about how to implement [Hirsch's disciple-making principles]. I was extraordinarily energized by it.” So said Steve Sharkey, a BALM board member and longtime elder at Faith Christian Fellowship.

Almost 140 leaders from six states, more than 30 churches, and multiple denominations attended the Awakening Conference, where global missiologist Allen Hirsch shared principles --not about how to make a disciple, but about how to create disciple-making movements. Attendees discussed ideas in their table groups, and attended several breakout sessions led by disciple-making practitioners.

The conference was sponsored by BALM, Metro Baltimore Seminary, and several partnering organizations. Dr. Dan Passerelli, President Metro Baltimore Seminary, said,

God used Craig and the BALM team in a big way to make the Awakening The Forgotten Ways conference happen. From initiating and engaging Alan Hirsch, to framing the event, to recruiting key leaders and breakout speakers, to administrating the venue at Bridgeway Church through Rebecca Vega, with Maria on communications, worship leadership through Stan and technology support with Derek Pulliam,  God used BALM as the major partner of MBS to seed and catalyze disciple-making movements in and for our region. Thank You, BALM!
