BALM Helping to Renew Dundalk Church

BALM Leads Church Renewal in Dundalk, MD

The congregation of Inverness Presbyterian Church has been serving the Dundalk, MD, area for over 140 years. It recently experienced a pastoral transition, and voted to partner with BALM (Baltimore Antioch Leadership Movement) until the end of 2025. BALM’s goal is to equip Inverness in following Jesus in His disciple-making mission, leading to church renewal. 

BALM has already helped several local churches with renewal, including Abbott Memorial Presbyterian and Grace Presbyterian in Relay, MD. Until the end of 2025, we will assist Inverness Presbyterian as we together:

• facilitate elder meetings and congregational meetings;

• design and execute Sunday worship, including preaching and music support;

• lead a weekly online prayer meeting for Inverness;

• create and launch a church website;

• communicate with the congregation via meetings, email, and a newsletter;

• teach a Disciplemaking Pathway Training Seminar; and

• conduct a Church Health Assessment to learn from congregants their history, perspectives, and aspirations for the church. The assessment will clarify the church’s ongoing vision and mission, and help discern the leader profile for the next pastor/s to advance Inverness’s gospel mission in Dundalk and southeast Baltimore.
