Metro Baltimore Seminary: Preparing Leaders for the Church

In his epistle, Jude urges believers to contend (fight, wrestle, struggle) for the faith against the errors that had already crept into the church. Two thousand years later, BALM helps train leaders to carry on this vital task of contending for the faith--especially through affordable, accredited, transformative theological education. As part of our mission to develop disciple-making leaders, BALM leads the Urban Ministry track and the Church Planting & Renewal track at Metro Baltimore Seminary.

EC Holmes, who recently graduated with a Bachelor's in Theology in the Urban Ministry track, found this time at MBS invaluable. He especially appreciated the monthly meetings with other students and leaders in the Urban Ministry cohort, which Pastor Stan Long leads. "My MBS and Urban Ministry cohort journey has been transformative, shaping me into a balanced and holistic gospel minister. It equipped me with the necessary empathy and compassion to preach the heart of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and build up those whom I have been privileged to serve. I am blessed to have had a sanctifying seminary experience that I trust the Lord will use to bear much fruit." In addition to working full-time, EC Holmes is a musician, podcaster, and leader at Faith Bible Fellowship in York, PA. He is one of the students featured on this MBS video.

As MBS began another academic year in September 2024, we prayed for 15 new students, and so far, God has sent 18---including a student joining online from Japan!
