Volunteers Help Us Meet the Challenges of the Future
How do we build disciple-making leaders who understand not only Scripture but the context in which we live? Men and women like those of Issachar, “who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.”? (1Chron. 12:32)
Two weeks ago, twenty-five volunteers renovated classroom space for MBS at Freedom church in northeast Baltimore. BALM partners with Metro Baltimore Seminary to sponsor the Church Planting and Renewal track and the Urban Ministry track. This strategic second site makes theological training more accessible for students from Baltimore, Pennsylvania, and even a new student from New Jersey! We were also pleased that the Baltimore Sun reported favorably on our work day and the new seminary. Read the Sun’s article here. Summer quarter at Metro Baltimore Seminary starts in a late August, and fall quarter begins in October.
Praise God for the $10,000 matching grant from a matching donor! BALM is raising $20,000 to pay for the renovations and provide scholarships for students. Pray that churches and individuals would see the need for this expansion. Donations for the MBS fund can be sent to BALM at the address on or home page (earmarked “MBS expansion”) or online here by selecting “MBS- Freedom Church Renovation and Scholarships.”
In spite of COVID, our mission moves forward! We are coaching pastors and pastoral spouses, teaching and mentoring students, and helping churches to revitalize and retool to reach people for Christ.
